Design And Usability

A small dehumidifier that packs a punch. Eva-dry Edv-2200 Mini dehumidifier is measured at 6.4 lb weight and 8.5 x 14 x 6.8 inches in size. Slightly bulkier than average but not a deal-breaker as it still can fit on tight spaces with ease. We tried placing Edv-2200 in a washroom, wardrobe, bedside table and it works just fine. Circling Eva-dry iconic design, you have the air inlet at the front and outlet at back. Simple, no-fuss moisture draining layout. Control-wise, there is the single on/ off button at the usual top spot with 2 indicator lights beside it. Moving down, you have a transparent water tank that can hold 1-3 days of water with an auto shut-off feature. Water displacement holes and a hydraulic cut-off are also standard here. The dehumidifier will turn off by itself once it detects the water tank is full. Overall there are no “premiumness” touches on the dehumidifier but the build quality is definitely there. It will outlast the 1-year warranty given by the manufacturer.

Dehumidification Technology

This is where the extra dollars are for. For a small dehumidifier, Eva-dry Edv-2200 Mini can cover up to 2200 cubic feet of dehumidification. The high moisture absorbing capacity can take in 20.5 ounces of moisture per day. Naturally, the water tank is larger too at 68-ounce volume. In real-life usage, it should hold 1-3 days of water before the need for emptying. Eva-dry Edv-2200 is ideal for a bathroom, garage, small basement, caravan, or damp places with humidity levels higher than 50 percent and moldy smell. Given its compactness, you can use it on a boat, work desk, or campsite as well.

Let's talk about how thermoelectric AKA Peltier technology works. Eva-dry Edv-2200 mini dehumidifier Peltier effect converts temperature differential into electrical power and creating a heat flux. The brushless motor fan will first pull in damp air into the dehumidifier. Passing through the Peltier heat cold sinks module, air will be heated, condense, and release out as dry air. the extracted water vapor will then drip down into the water tank for collection. The dehumidification process is slow but will definitely work given enough time. However, if your home is heavily infested with mold and mildew or has been through a flood, Eva-Dry Edv-2200 will play little part in helping.

Although double the power output of most small dehumidifiers, Eva-dry Edv-2200 operates silently in the background thanks to the wonderful Peltier technology. The noise output is under 30 dB and indistinguishable from other mini dehumidifiers. Power consumption is on the high side for its segment but is not at an alarming level. You can easily leave it running all day in the bathroom or desk without being disturbed by its presence.

Price Guide

Being a mid-size, Eva-Dry Edv-2200 electric dehumidifier costs twice as much as most entry-level models. Despite being bump up in dehumidifying performance with a larger water tank, feature-wise remains the same. Should you pay the extra dollar though? Personally, it is worth it simply for extra moisture capturing juice. At the end of it all, the decision still falls back to you.
