Design And Usability
Infused with a clean and modern look, the hOmeLabs 70 Pint dehumidifier will fit well in any home decor design. At 15.4 x 24.3 x 11 in and 40 lb weight, the white color housing will take up a large chunk of living space. Moving the dehumidifier around is not hard thanks to the side grabbing handles, heavy-duty casters, and the slightly lighter bodyweight. With air inlet and outlet tuck away from the eye-view, you will only find a water level window prominently display upfront. Speaking of the bucket, removing and reinserting the bucket is dead-easy. The deep 1.8 gallons will hold a high volume of water even if you leave it on 24×7. On normal use in a wet humidity room, you will only have to do it every 1-3 days.
Moving to the back, the air intake is located behind the big air filter grille. The air filter can be easily taken out for cleaning, unlike some models that require removing the whole panel. Below the grille, there is a drain hose slot that you can connect to a garden hose for a gravity pump. Right below it is the power cord bucket slot that is unique in hOmeLabs. It is there to prevents other people from tripping on the cord by wrapping around it.

Let’s jump to the controls. Starting from the left, you have the comfort button that will automatically set a comfortable and healthy level based on the ambient temperature. Example: <65 ˚F 6 (55%), 65 -77 ˚F (50%), >77 ˚F (45%). The filter button is only used to reset the check time after you have clean the filter. When the clean filter light starts flashing, it is time to clean the filter. Next, pressing the continuous button will activate/ deactivate the continuous dehumidifying operation. Pressing the Turbo button will cycle between normal and high fan speed. Left/ Right buttons has 2 distinctive functions. It can deactivate continuous mode and set a specific humidity level between 35-85% relative humidity level with +-5% increment. By pressing the timer button, it can set a time on when to turn on or off the dehumidifier. You can refer to the LED display during adjustment or check on the current humidity level.
Overall we are happy with hOmeLabs 70 Pint dehumidifier build quality and the extended 2 years warranty is the perfect icing on the cake. With proper care and maintenance, hOmeLabs will last for many years to come.
Dehumidification Technology
Breathe and sleep better with no allergies like cough, sneeze, itchiness to irritate you. hOmeLabs 70 pint capacity dehumidifier is great at reducing indoor dampness and musty odor. Normal airflow speed is at 165 cfm speed to a max 188 cfm airflow speed. At full speed, the dehumidifier can remove moisture up to 4500 square feet of room space. You can easily place hOmeLabs in the living room, basement. garage, lounge, and even multiple rooms with doors wide open. For long-hour operation, there is a 24-hour timer standing by even when you are away for work. In short, if you want a 70-pint dehumidifier that delivers stable and punchy airflow, this is the right model.
hOmeLabs dehumidifier refrigerative technology helps remove airborne allergens like mold, mildew that thrive in wet conditions. It also protects the home furniture from water damage and rust. Through its built-in pump compressor, the damp air will first be cleansed by the filter. With most particles like dust, hair, pet dander, mold removed, the clean air will then pass through the refrigerated coils. After going through condensation, water will be extracted out and drip down to the bucket or direct drainage. The now dry air will then disperse out as vapor and the dehumidification process will start all over again until a humidity point is reached (under 50 percent).
Despite being a 70-pint model, hOmeLabs HME020031N can be pretty silent at low speed with only mild humming fan noise. If you enjoy sleeping with mild background white noise, hOmeLabs HME020031N will do just fine. At high speed though, it is considerably loud thus not suitable for night use or during work. As for power consumption, hOmeLabs is Energy Star Certified but energy usage is very much a 70-pint model. expect relatively high power consumption if you operate at high speed for more than 12 hours.Price Guide
There's a price for everything and that's certainly the case for hOmeLabs 70 Pint dehumidifier. The exceptional build quality and performance push the price close to 250 before any discount. You can find a cheaper, less-known 70-pint model out there if you don't mind sacrificing on quality. Nevertheless, what you paid is a one-off fee so why not invest in a quality product. I would highly recommend you to stick with hOmeLabs but downgrade to a 50-pint model if you want to spend less on a dehumidifier.Pros
